"There are only a few more days until the organisation of the referendum for the revision of the Constitution on the redefinition of family. The Government has taken all necessary measures, both legislative and as regards the provision of funds. The authorities are on schedule as far as the technical preparation is concerned. We want to ensure the best possible organisation of this public consultation, so that the citizens' opinion be reflected as faithfully as possible by the result of the vote. This ample consultation comes as a result of a demarche on behalf of the society, it is not aimed at a minority. The theme of family has powerful resonance within our traditional values and the Romanian people's consciousness," Viorica Dancila said on Thursday, in the beginning of the Government sitting.
The Prime Minister also expressed her confidence that the state's institutions will do their job in order to ensure a well-organized and smooth-running referendum.
