The preparation of Romania's forthcoming Presidency of the Council of the European Union was the main topic of Tuesday's discussion between Prime Minister Viorica Dancila and the President of the European Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker, according to a press release sent by the Government's Press Office.
"The two officials had a cordial discussion, the main topic being the preparations for Romania's forthcoming Presidency of the Council of the EU. The head of the Executive reaffirmed her commitment in ensuring a successful mandate, aimed at bringing the Union closer to the citizens and ensuring unity and cohesion between the member states," the press release informs.
Prime Minister Viorica Dancila met on Tuesday, at Baneasa Airport, with European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker, as he was leaving Romania, where he participated, on Monday afternoon, in the plenary session of the Three Seas Initiative Summit.
