Prime Minister Viorica Dancila Thursday announced during the Government sitting the adoption of two decisions that are aimed at allocating 200 million lei to the authorities of the local administration for supporting the child protection services, as well as a 15 percent raise to the base pay of people with severe and accentuated handicap.
"Since the beginning of the term we have been concerned with finding solutions so as to improve the quality of life of children who are in social assistance centers, as well as of people with disabilities, our fellow people who are in need of support. (...) We will allocate the sum of 200 million lei, amount that could be modified, to local administration authorities, in order to ensure the necessary funds for supporting the child protection services and social assistance centers for people with disabilities," Dancila specified at the beginning of the Government sitting.
Dancila also mentioned that all people with a severe or accentuated degree of disability, regardless of its type, will benefit from a 15 percent raise to the base pay for the activity carried out within a regular work schedule.
"This is about the people who hold a certificate of being severely disabled or have an accentuated physical, visual, auditory, mental, psychological, AIDS or severe illnesses. It is a decision through which we want to ensure the de facto equality of people with disabilities concerning the exercising of their right to work," said the Prime Minister.
