Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, who is on a two-day official visit to Germany, will meet Federal Chancellor Friedrich Merz on Wednesday, according to Agerpres.
Also on Wednesday, the prime minister is scheduled to have talks with Vice-President of the Federal Parliament (Bundestag) Andrea Lindholz, leader of the CDU parliamentary group Jens Spahn and President of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer.
At the same time, the prime minister will meet President of the Central Council of Jews in Germany Josef Schuster, in the context of marking International Holocaust Remembrance Day and the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp. Bolojan will visit the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe and will hold discussions with Director of the Foundation of the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe Uwe Neumarker.
The head of the executive will meet representatives of the Romanian community at the Romanian Embassy in Germany.
Romanians make up the fourth largest foreign community in Germany, with approximately 910,000 people. More than 90,000 of them have been granted German citizenship. They are joined by around 500,000 ethnic Germans originating from Romania, well integrated in Germany, the Government pointed out.
The delegation accompanying Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan includes Minister of National Defence Radu Miruta, Head of the Prime Minister's Chancellery Mihai Jurca, Chief of the Defence Staff Gheorghita Vlad, MP Ovidiu Gant, representative of the Democratic Forum of Germans in Romania, State Secretary with the Prime Minister's Chancellery Dragos Hotea and State Adviser with the Prime Minister's Chancellery Raul Gutin.
The prime minister's visit to Germany began on Tuesday with a meeting with representatives of the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DIHK).
