Over 56,200 properties were sold in December nationwide, by 6,144 more than in November, with a total of 628,356 properties traded last year, the National Agency for Cadastre and Real Estate Advertising announced on Thursday.
According to a press release sent to AGERPRES, in December 2025, 56,203 properties were sold nationwide, by 6,144 more than in November.
The number of houses, land and apartments that were the subject of transactions in December is 1,388 lower than the same period in 2024.
The most real estate sales were recorded in Bucharest - 9,244 and in the counties of Ilfov - 4,053 and Timis - 3,075. The counties with the fewest real estate sold are Teleorman - 39, Calarasi - 265, Giurgiu - 265 and Covasna - 326.
Regarding the county capitals, the most real estate transactions took place in Brasov - 1,281, Timisoara - 1,213 and Cluj-Napoca - 1,129, and the fewest in Alexandria - 11, Calarasi - 36 and Giurgiu - 41.
The number of mortgages, at the national level, was 39,508, 155 more than in December 2024. The most operations of this kind were registered in Bucharest - 5,490 and in Ilfov - 3,032 and Prahova - 2,873 counties. At the opposite end are the counties of Harghita - 97, Caras-Severin - 114 and Gorj - 160.
The counties in which the most agricultural land was sold in December 2025 are Mehedinti - 760, Dolj - 643 and Arad - 602.
In 2025, a total of 628,356 properties were traded, by 14,978 fewer than in 2024, when 643,334 properties were sold.
Last year, the most property sales were recorded in July - 66,013, and the fewest in January - 30,834. In 2024, the most transactions were recorded in October - 67,998 and the fewest in Januar
