More than 4 billion have already been transferred to Romania by the European Commission, and by the end of January the country will receive over 1 billion more, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Florin Barbu announced in a Facebook post on Tuesday.
"I thank all my colleagues from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Agency for Payments and Interventions in Agriculture and the Agency for the Financing of Rural Investments for their involvement in managing European funds and directing them toward the development of Romanian farms and increased production. A total of 4,075,862,964 has already been transferred into Romania's accounts by the European Commission, and by the end of this month we will collect another 1,006,710,849," Barbu wrote.
He mentioned that this sets a new record for Romania's absorption of European funds in 2025, exceeding 5 billion.
"We will continue to develop Romanian farms, the food industry and Romanian villages by fully using all available funding sources," the minister concluded.
