The population in the northern part of Tulcea County received another extreme alert message at around 12:30 am on Wednesday night into Thursday, against the backdrop of the war launched by Russia in Ukraine.

In the message, residents were warned about the possibility of objects falling from the airspace, with authorities recommending that people take shelter in safe locations.

According to the Delta Emergency Situations Inspectorate, no calls were recorded to the single emergency number, 112.

Since the beginning of this year, according to data provided to AGERPRES by the Ministry of National Defence, more than 15 Russian attacks have been recorded in the vicinity of the Romanian-Ukrainian border by the middle of this month, and in at least ten of these cases it was necessary to scramble aircraft from the Air Policing Service for monitoring and response.

Since the start of the war in Ukraine, the population of Tulcea County has received more than 70 extreme alert messages.
