The natural increase rate for November 2021 remains negative (-23,834 persons), just like in the month of November 2020 (-22,308 persons), according to the data published on Friday by the National Institute of Statistics (INS), Agerpres reports.
According to the official statistics, the number of newborns registered in November 2021 was higher by 2,175 when comparing with the same month of 2020, and the number of deaths in November 2021 was 3,701 higher than November 2020.
The number of children under a year that died was smaller by 10 in the month of November than the one registered in November 2020.
During the month of November 2021, over two-thirds of total casualties were registered in persons with the age of at least 70, as such: 15,836 deaths, representing 41% in persons with the age of 80 and over; 10,206 casualties representing 26.4% of people between 70-79 and 7,491 deaths representing 19.4% of people between 60-69. On the other hand, the least deaths were registered in the 5-19 y/o age groups (56 casualties), 0-4 years (103 casualties) and 20-29 y/o (138 casualties).
"By the main cause of death, most people deceased in November 2021 had the following problems: diseases of circulatory system (18,113 persons, representing 46.9%); respiratory diseases (11,929 persons, representing 30.9%); tumors (4,101 persons, representing 10.6%). After 4 months when respiratory issues represented the third cause of death, in the months of September, October and November 2021, respiratory issues represented, again, the second main cause of death, a situation also registered in the period of October 2020 - April 2021," the press release mentions.
