Romania needs well-managed cultural initiatives, with an impact on education, communities and the public space, that contribute to a coherent cultural presence, Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan said on Thursday in a message occasioned by the National Culture Day.

"The National Culture Day reminds us of the importance of cultural heritage and of Mihai Eminescu's work in shaping Romanian identity. Romania needs well-managed cultural initiatives, with an impact on education, communities and the public space, which contribute to a coherent cultural presence and to increasing the respect our country enjoys worldwide," Ilie Bolojan underscored in a post on the Executive's Facebook page.

According to the prime minister, "the Government has a responsibility to support education and culture, and those active in this area have the role of capitalizing on these opportunities through competence and visible results for society."

"I thank all those who contribute to Romania's cultural life and encourage them to continue building, through their work, a cultural space that is accessible and connected to today's realities," PM Bolojan concluded.
