A magnitude 3.3 earthquake occurred on Thursday, at 1:20 local time, in the eastern Vrancea seismic zone, Vrancea County, according to the information published by the National Institute of Research and Development for Earth Physics (INCDFP), agerpres reports.
The tremor took place at 130 kilometer depth near the following cities: 73 km east of Brasov, 88 km northeast of Ploiesti, 105 km south of Bacau, 119 km west of Galati, 120 km west of Braila and 140 km northeast of Bucharest.
Since the beginning of December, 23 earthquakes have occurred in Romania, with magnitudes ranging from 2.1 to 4.1 on the Richter scale.
The most important earthquake of this year occurred on May 26 and had a magnitude of 4.7. The earthquake was also felt in Bucharest.
