The Romanian Border Police has announced that the authorities of the Republica Moldova decided this morning to temporarily restrict the entry of lorries into the country due to adverse weather conditions, according to the Iasi Territorial Inspectorate of the Border Police.
According to the same source, the measure applies to the Oancea-Cahul and Galati-Giurgiulesti border crossing points.
'At these border crossing points, the entry of lorries into the Republic of Moldova is temporarily not permitted. The restriction has been introduced to prevent traffic blockages and risk situations on the territory of the neighbouring state and will remain in force until the measures are lifted by the Moldovan authorities. Romanian border police officers are informing hauliers currently in transit about the situation and recommend rerouting their journeys, as well as regularly consulting official updates before travelling,' the Iasi Territorial Border Police Inspectorate stated.
