The health insurance contribution was scrapped for the recipients of child benefit, minimum guaranteed income and adoption leave allowance, the Ministry of Labor and Social Security said in a release to stiripesurse on Wednesday.
The Government repealed under a freshly adopted Emergency Ordinance the provisions on the payment of the healthcare insurance contribution by the persons who collect child benefit as per the Government's Emergency Ordinance No.111, social welfare as provided for by Law No. 416/2001 on the minimum guaranteed income or allowance over the paid adoption leave provided for by Law No. 273/2004 on the adoption procedure; these categories of social benefit recipients are insured without having to pay the contribution and have access to the health services provided for by Law No. 95/2006.
"In the case of entitlement to parental leave and child rearing benefit, welfare and adjustment allowances and related benefits set in place until December 31, 2017 inclusively, the health insurance contribution shall be paid by the National Payments and Social Inspection Agency, through the county payment and social inspection agencies and the dedicated agency in Bucharest, until March 31, 2018," the Ministry of Labor said.
The release states that the Emergency Ordinance also gives a waiver from the recovery of the amounts representing health insurance contributions for entitlements until December 31, 2017, considering the category of beneficiaries who are vulnerable in both health and economic terms.
