The Romanian Government has adopted an ordinance regulating the RCA mandatory motor vehicle liability insurance, with its provisions to be published this evening on the Finance Ministry website, the Cabinet Spokesman Liviu Iolu announced. The Cabinet approved the RCA ordinance after talks in the morning amidst transporters' discontent with hikes in the RCA rates.
"The ordinance adopted by the Cabinet will be published by the Ministry of Finance, which is also its initiator. The final version, the one adopted by the Cabinet, will be posted on the ministry website for all transporters to see; it will then be published in the Official Journal," Iolu said at a news conference.
He added that the Government chose to publish the text of the ordinance immediately on the ministry website because its publication in the Official Journal may take some hours. He also said that transporters will be able to see if the terms discussed during the morning's consultations with representatives of the Government, Competition Council and the Financial Oversight Authority are found in the approved version.
