The Commander-in-Chief of Multi-Domain Command 56 Europe, Brigadier General Steve Carpenter, declared on Monday, in a press conference held in Cincu, that NATO's future is bright and that, at the same time, the member states are united, considering what is happening in the world, not just in Eastern Europe.
So the future of NATO is obviously sometimes a controversial issue, isn't it? And we've seen that play out over the years, but from the United States' perspective, Europe has been a booming sector for the United States. And I don't think there's any controversy about the simple concept that a strong United States and a strong NATO in Europe is not just a European deterrent, it's a global deterrent. These are the nations that we go to war with when we have a common cause. So again, I think the future of NATO is bright. It's a defensive alliance. But we're also united right now, given everything that's going on in the world, not just in Eastern Europe, Brigadier General Steve Carpenter answered questions from the press.
The American general stressed that there is no doubt that a strong NATO in Europe is not only a deterrent in this area, but also globally.
