Minister of Public Finance Eugen Teodorescu stated on Sunday evening that a possible reshuffle of the current cabinet is to be decided by the Executive Committee (CEx) sitting of the Social Democratic Party (PSD), following Prime Minister Viorica Dancila's assessment, adding that he is, however, more concerned with doing his job, "be it weekend, nighttime, daytime and no matter what assessment is coming."
"This will be decided by the CEx meeting, depending on Mrs. PM's assessment. Her assessment is already done. It includes all the measures from the governing programme related to a ministry or the other, there are measures in which several ministries are involved, discussions are carried out with each minister, we are discussing there, where more time is needed in order to be able to bring certain relevant arguments in explaining why a certain measures hasn't been adopted in due time. In our case, we have measures up to the end of the year, but we also discussed about their current status, whether we are talking about the Sovereign Fund or the Bank for Development, each of the measures assumed under the governing programme, for when you are appointed Minister, you undertake all the measures written in the governing programme, regardless of the portfolio," Teodorovici told Antena 3 private broadcaster.
When asked what is his intuition telling him about a possible reshuffle, the Minister of Finance said he is more concerned with doing his job.
"After many years, since I am perhaps the oldest of my colleagues, I see things differently. I am only concerned with doing my job, be it a weekend, nighttime, daytime and no matter what assessment is coming. I have the obligation to come and discuss with Mrs. Prime Minister about each measure, as I've already said, where I have relevant arguments, I present them and Mrs. Prime Minister makes a decision," added the head of Finance.
Prime Minister Viorica Dancila announced on October 24, before the meeting of the National Standing Bureau of the PSD, that a cabinet reshuffle will take place, and her assessment will be completed next Monday.
"There will be a reshuffle. On Monday I will finish my assessment," she mentioned at the Parliament Palace.
