The open-air exhibition titled "Ferdinand and Marie. A common destiny: Greater Romania", organized by the Cotroceni National Museum, will be presented at the Museum of the City of Bucharest - the Sutu Palace.
According to a release of the Cotroceni National Museum, sent, on Monday, to AGERPRES, the demarche, carried out in partnership with the Museum of the City of Bucharest, is dedicated to the anniversary of the marriage of King Ferdinand and Queen Marie, on January 10, 1893.
Together with the central element, represented by the portraits of the royal couple, the exhibition's panels also comprise the genealogies of the Romanov, Braganza, Saxa-Coburg-Gotha and Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen families.
The exhibition, which blends the vision of eight young artists with historical information, brings to the attention of the public the life stories of European monarchs, as well as the sacrifices of King Ferdinand and Queen Marie, who shared the sadness of leaving their homes for a new life, dedicating their lives to the construction of Greater Romania, a true lesson of character, devotion, and duty.
The exhibition can be visited until February 10.
The marriage of the Romanian Crown Prince, Ferdinand, to Princess Marie Alexandra Victoria of Edinburgh took place in Sigmaringen, in Germany, in the presence of Queen Victoria of the United Kingdom, Emperor Wilhelm II of Germany, King Carol I of Romania and other representatives of European royal families.
