Issuing electronic energy vouchers for vulnerable consumers in Romania has been extended throughout December 31, 2026, and so far payments of nearly RON 197.6 million have been made for an average number of over 714,000 eligible beneficiaries, according to a press statement from the National Agency for Payments and Social Inspection (ANPIS).

According to ANPIS data, over one million applications were registered in the EPIDS application [Evidence and Payment of Allowances and Social Rights] approximately 725,000 of which were deemed eligible, and the payments made totalled almost RON 198 million.

The aid provided under OUG 35/2025 for vulnerable electricity consumers continues until the end of 2026, providing stability and predictability for low-income individuals and families. So far, a total number of 1,016,852 applications for the electronic energy voucher have been registered in the EPIDS application, of which 724,847 have been deemed eligible, in accordance with the eligibility conditions provided for under OUG 35/2025

Data highlight a constant interest in this aid measure and the need to maintain the protection granted to vulnerable households.

Since the beginning of the support measure and until the last payment made, in February 2026 for the rights related to January 2026, ANPIS made payments totalling approximately RON 197.6 million for an average number of 714,082 eligible beneficiaries nationwide.

The aid consists of an electronic energy ticket worth RON 50 per month, an amount that can be used exclusively for the payment of electricity bills.

In the context of extending the period of application of the measure until December 31, 2026, ANPIS encourages citizens who meet the eligibility conditions to submit applications through the EPIDS application, either online or through post offices or town halls.

Thus, applicants are asked to pay special attention to completing the application in the EPIDS application, especially regarding the correctness of the identification data (name, surname, CNP, as well as the validity of the identity document) and the data related to the place of consumption.

The incomes registered at the National Agency for Fiscal Administration and at the National House of Public Pensions are not filled in the application, as they are automatically verified by querying the databases made available by the two institutions.

At the same time, after the application is submitted, it can no longer be modified. In the event of identifying errors, the faulty application has to be cancelled and a new application with the correct data submitted."
