The Senate's plenary session began on Monday the debate on the simple motion against the Minister of Defense, Radu Miruta, in which the management of the national security and defense policy is criticized in the context of the statements regarding the "potential deployment of Romanian troops in Greenland".
The text of the motion is read by the PACE - Romania First senator, Stefan Bortun.
Entitled "Progressive Minister Radu Miruta compromises the credibility of Romania's defense policy through irresponsible statements and lack of strategic analysis", the motion announced during the parliamentary recess and submitted last week to the Senate plenary session is signed by 41 parliamentarians (28 AUR and 13 PACE - Romania First senators).
Three simple motions of the Opposition are being debated in the Senate's plenary session on Monday. The first two, regarding the Mercosur Agreement and Education, were rejected.
