France will provide expertise for drafting a new cinematography law in Romania, with film industry being one of the priorities of Culture Minister Vlad Alexandrescu, as he wrote on Thursday on his Facebook page.
This piece of information comes in the context of the visit that he has paid to France's National Center of Cinematography.
"We have been welcomed at the National Centre of French Cinematography, where we discussed with Christophe Tardieu, the Director General, and Frederique Bredin, the President of the institution, reaffirming that Romanian cinematography is one of the priorities of my cabinet. In this meeting, we have agreed that France will provide expertise for drafting a new cinematography law and for reforming the relevant institutions in Romania," minister of culture writes, adding that, in February, at the film festival in Berlin, "a framework partnership agreement between the two cinematography centers will be drafted, which will be signed at the Cannes Film Festival."
Among the objectives of the Ministry of Culture, posted also on the Government's website, are changes in the organization and functioning regulation of the National Centre of Cinematography by September, and tabling to the Government the draft of the new cinematography law, in October.
