The Bucharest Court of Appeal judges rejected the request of the Directorate for Organized Crime and Terrorism Investigation's (DIICOT) prosecutors to extend the pre-trial arrest of the three Romanian men who appear in the reportage made by the British television Sky News.
The Court ordered that Aurelian Mihai Szanto, Attila Csaba Pantics and Levente Pantics be placed under court supervision, but the decision isn't final and it can be challenged by the DIICOT.
The three of them are in pre-trial arrest since 12 August, being charged with establishing an organized crime group, violation of arms and ammunition legislation and communicating false information.
Aurelian Mihai Szanto played the intermediary role between the British journalists and the alleged arm dealers and Attila Csaba Pantics and Levente Pantics appear with their face covered in the Sky News reportage, in which they describe and handle the arms offered for sale.
Also the three members of the British television broadcaster's crew who took part in the making of the reportage were criminally prosecuted by the DIICOT prosecutors on charge of communicating false information. AGERPRES
