Authorities issue RO-ALERT message in Tulcea County amid war in Ukraine

People in Tulcea County, in the border area with Ukraine, received a RO-ALERT message on Friday morning, against the backdrop of the war initiated by Russia in Ukraine. This was the fourth alert issued by the national authorities since Wednesday evening.

In the extreme alert message, residents of Tulcea were informed of the possibility of objects falling from the airspace, and the authorities advised them to remain calm and take shelter in basements or civil defence shelters.

'In the absence of a shelter, remain inside your home, away from windows and exterior walls. Estimated duration of the alert: 90 minutes,' the RO-ALERT message stated.

After residents in the Tulcea border area with Ukraine received an informational RO-ALERT message on Wednesday evening. regarding the risk of objects falling from the airspace, the authorities issued two further alerts on Thursday. On both days, the Ministry of Defence confirmed that Russian drones had violated Romania's airspace.
