The reorganization of the Permanent Electoral Authority involves strict sizing of the staff based on objective criteria at the territorial level, as well as a significant reduction of management positions at the central level, including the abolition of deputy director positions and the restructuring of the central apparatus, stated the president of the AEP, Adrian Ţuţuianu, who participated on Friday at the General Assembly of the Union of Parliamentary Civil Servants and Contractual Personnel within the institution.
According to a press release from the AEP, in his intervention, the AEP president sent a firm message regarding the need to reform the institution, in the context of the obligation to reduce personnel expenses by 10%, provided for by Ordinance no. 7/2026.
He emphasized that the measures will not be limited to specific adjustments, but will aim at a profound reorganization, meant to eliminate dysfunctions and impose clear standards of efficiency and responsibility.

At the same time, the chairman of AEP announced concrete measures to reduce expenses, including strict limitation of fuel consumption, rigorous use of the institution's resources and the elimination of any practices that cannot be justified from the perspective of public interest.
At the same time, a clear message was sent regarding work discipline: all employees have the obligation to strictly comply with the norms of professional conduct and the provisions of the Administrative Code and Law No. 7/2004 on the status of parliamentary civil servants.
The AEP chair emphasized that misconduct, including the unjustified use of sick leave or failure to comply with the work schedule and duties, will not be tolerated.
During the meeting, the draft regulation on the organization and functioning of the institution, which is under public debate until March 22, was presented, as well as the examination methodology for filling positions in territorial structures.
The chairman of AEP, Adrian Tutuianu, called for involvement and responsibility from all staff in the process of modernizing the institution, emphasizing the importance of an open, constructive and reasoned dialogue with employees, in which their opinions and proposals are listened to and valued, so that the decisions adopted reflect the real needs of the institution and contribute to making its activity more efficient, the press release also states.
The legislative priorities of the institution were also addressed, namely, amending and supplementing the legal framework regarding the financing of political parties and developing an Electoral Code.
