The total number of citizens registered to vote in Romania's Electoral Register on 31 March is 19,028,813, down by 3,715 compared with 28 February.
According to a Permanent Electoral Authority (AEP) release sent to AGERPRES on Thursday, 19,032,528 Romanian voters were registered in the Electoral Register on 28 February.
Of the total registered voters, 17,975,124 have residence in Romania, while 1,053,689 live abroad and hold a CRDS passport.
Between 1 and 31 March, the following removals were made in the Electoral Register at local mayoralties:
* 22,115 people were removed following death, in accordance with article 37 of Law no. 208/2015 on the election of the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies, as well as on the organisation and functioning of the Permanent Electoral Authority, with subsequent amendments and additions;
* 228 people were removed under article 39 of the same law, relating to the removal of voters from the Electoral Register who were prohibited from exercising their right to vote or placed under interdiction.
A total of 71 people regained their voting rights following the expiration of their removal period.
In March, 18,557 people turned 18 and were automatically registered in the Electoral Register by the Permanent Electoral Authority, based on notifications from the General Directorate for Personal Registry (DGEP).
