A total of 28 flights to and from Israel, Dubai, Bahrain, Qatar and Jordan were cancelled on Tuesday amid developments in the Middle East, according to the Bucharest Airports National Company.

The cancellations concern 15 departures and 13 arrivals operated by Anima Wings, El Al Israel Airlines, Fly One Romania, flydubai, HiSky Europe, Qatar Airways, Ryanair, TAROM and Wizz Air Malta, agerpres reports.

The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure (MTI) has advised Romanian citizens planning travel to Israel or neighbouring states directly affected by the conflict to cancel or reschedule their trips for a later date.

On Saturday morning, Israel and the United States launched attacks against Iran, with explosions reported in Tehran and other cities, including Tabriz in the north-west and Isfahan in central Iran. Iran responded by launching missiles and drones against US military bases in Bahrain, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, as well as military targets on Israeli territory, according to EFE.
