Industrial production prices overall, on both the domestic and external markets, rose by 2.2% in January this year compared with December 2025, while compared with January 2025 the increase was 7.8%, according to data the National Institute of Statistics (INS) published on Tuesday.
On the domestic market, the industrial production price index recorded increases of 2.76% in the first month of this year compared with the previous month and of 9.31% compared with January 2025, agerpres reports.
As regards the external market, in January 2026 compared with the previous month, industrial production prices were higher by 0.61%, while compared with the same month of the previous year an increase of 4.12% was recorded.
By main industrial groups, on an annual basis, January 2026 compared with January 2025, increases in industrial production prices were recorded in the energy industry, 14.3%, intermediate goods industry, 5.20%, non-durable consumer goods industry, 5.19%, capital goods industry, 3.89%, and durable consumer goods industry, 3.47%.
Data from the National Institute of Statistics show that, by activity sections, in January 2026 compared with January 2025, the most significant price increases were recorded in electricity, heat, gas, hot water and air conditioning production and supply, 19.38%, water supply, sewerage, waste management and remediation activities, 12.98%, and coal mining, 12.85%.
