Save Romania Union (USR) MPs will table a simple motion against Environment Minister Tanczos Barna, "because he is not interested in protecting the environment," USR leader Catalin Drula said on Monday.
The decision was made by the USR National Bureau, following a press investigation.
"Following the recorder.ro investigation, we see that this PSD-PNL-UDMR government is in collusion with the forestry mafia, and Mr Tanczos Barna has executed in the most obvious mob style a chief inspector of the Timisoara Environmental Guard, who disturbed the interests of PSD and PNL for the forestry mafia. He has been fired. For this we will call him before Parliament and ask him to explain what appears to be a 'blood oath' made with PSD and PNL to protect the forestry mafia," said Drula.
According to him, "the mob, the parties and law enforcement have joined hands to make money in a kleptocratic, illiberal system."
"USR is the only democratic opposition fighting against them. We will continue to fight for 2024," added Drula.
