Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will pay on official visit to Romania on Thursday, occasion on which he will be welcomed by President Nicusor Dan, by Prime Minister Ilie Bolojand and by other Romanian officials.
President Nicusor Dan will welcome Zelenskyy at the Cotroceni Palace.
According to a release of the Presidential Administration, the high-level bilateral consultations will take place in the context of the recent marking, on 24 February, of four years since Russia started the aggression war against Ukraine. Romania provided, from the very first days, multidimensional support to Ukraine and currently contributes to the international efforts for a fair and lasting peace, accompanied by solid security guarantees for Ukraine.
The agenda of talks between the presidents will include topics aimed at facilitating the strengthening of a comprehensive, constructive and future-oriented bilateral relation.
"The discussions will focus on developing political dialogue, intensifying economic cooperation, sectorial cooperation in areas such as energy and defence industries, developing connectivity and cross-border projects, as well as Romania's role in Ukraine's reconstruction project.
Moreover, the two heads of state will exchange views regarding topical matters, such as the enlargement process of the European Union, the transatlantic relation, the security situation in the Black Sea region and the latest developments at regional and global level.
At the same time, Romania's President will also refer to the need to boost the bilateral dialogue in the area of observing the rights of persons belonging to the Romanian minority in Ukraine, including the right to education in the mother tongue, the quoted source mentioned.
Furthermore, Volodymyr Zelenskyy will also meet Prime Minister Ilie Boloan at the Victoria Palace.
According to a Government release, the agenda of talks includes topics regarding bilateral and European-level cooperation.
