The State Philharmonic of Targu Mures announced Wednesday that it will host two concerts under the aegis of the prestigious "George Enescu" International Festival, one on September 10, performed by the Istanbul State Symphony Orchestra and a second one, on September 11, which will mark the opening of the 2025-2026 season.
"On Wednesday, September 10, 2025, a symphonic concert will take place in the grand hall of the Palace of Culture. The event is a project funded by Romania's Government through the Ministry of Culture, organized by Artexim and carried out in partnership with the Artproduction Foundation, the Yunus Emre Institute and the "George Enescu" International Festival.
The concert will be conducted by Hasan Niyazi Tura, with violinist Vlad Stanculeasa as soloist. It will feature the Istanbul State Symphony Orchestra," according to a Facebook post of the State Philharmonic of Targu Mures.
The concert will include: "Ballad for Violin and Orchestra" by George Enescu, Violin Concerto in E minor, Op. 64 by Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy, "Sunny Landscapes" by Cemal Resit Rey and Symphony No. 1 in C major, Op. 21 by Ludwig van Beethoven.
A day later, another symphonic concert is scheduled within the same prestigious "George Enescu" International Festival. The event will open the 2025-2026 season of the State Philharmonic of Targu Mures and will mark the institution's 75th anniversary.
"The concert will be conducted by Christian Caslean, the evening's soloist will be pianist Oana Csíky. The program will include Piano Concerto No. 1 in C major, Op. 15 by Ludwig van Beethoven and Symphony No. 4 in A major, Op. 90 by Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy," the Philharmonic of Targu Mures announced.
