Romania is not currently facing any fuel supply difficulties, and companies in the sector are purchasing at prices aligned with the international market, President Nicusor Dan said on Monday, according to the Presidential Administration.
The head of state met on Monday with Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, Energy Minister Bogdan Ivan, Transport and Infrastructure Minister Ciprian Serban, and representatives of oil industry companies OMV Petrom and Rompetrol, to analyse the situation of crude oil and fuel supply in the context of international developments triggered by the closure of the Strait of Hormuz.
Given the dynamic nature of the global context, the president, the Government and private sector partners agreed on a mechanism for continuous communication, the cited source said.
According to the Presidential Administration, this mechanism will enable close monitoring of the situation and the rapid adoption of appropriate measures, if necessary, in full coordination and with a focus on stability and prudence.
