The Turkish crew of Huseyin Cetmen/Ali Emre Yilmaz (Ford Fiesta Rally3) won the Jumbo Superspecial show stage held in downtown Baia Mare on Friday evening, on the opening day of the Maramures Rally - the first round of the National Rally Championship, Agerpres report.
Cetmen set a time of 1:06.9, followed by Andrei Girtofan/Dorin Pulpea (koda Fabia RS Rally2) at 0.9 sec, and Mihai Manole/Florin Dorca (koda Fabia Rally2 Evo) at 2.3 sec. The crew Simone Tempestini/Francesca Maior (Porsche 997 GT3 RS) finished ninth, 7.6 seconds behind the winners.
On Saturday, the crews will run the Farcasa, Ciolt and Coruia stages twice each. On Sunday, the rally concludes with the Codru Butesii trial, which also includes the Power Stage, followed by the awards ceremony at 2 p.m. in Baia Mare's Libertatii Square.
This year's Maramures Rally features a format focused on speed and precision on both asphalt and gravel, with more than 122 km of special stages.
