The fourth edition of the "Suflet de Romania" ("Soul of Romania") festival will be the largest so far and will take place on 25 and 26 April at the Savarsin Royal Domain, organisers announced on Thursday in a press release.
The Savarsin Royal Domain will become "a place where the world of the traditional village comes to life, with artisans of authentic flavours, craftspeople ready to reveal skills passed down through generations, and artists from all age groups".
"Suflet de Romania" will bring together local producers, workshops with skilled craftspeople, folk dances and concerts featuring, among others, Theo Rose, Damian Draghici & Brothers, Nicolae Furdui Iancu, Nicoleta Voica, David Ciente, Maria Chivu and Grupul Jianca.
The official opening will take place on Saturday at 12:00, following a tour of local producers and artisans by Her Majesty Margareta of Romania, accompanied by His Royal Highness Prince Radu of Romania.
Officials and sponsors will also attend.
"The activity areas within the festival bear names inspired by the traditional Romanian village, from the Children's Lane to the Village Fair and the Traders' Inn, up to the Artisans' Road. Several non-governmental organisations, supported by Profi in their mission to do good, will be present, offering visitors details and concrete examples of involvement in culture, education, health, environment, sport, innovation and community," the press release said.
Admission to the festival is free on both days, between 12:00 and 19:30.
Organisers also noted that participation in all activities is free, and access to the Savarsin Royal Domain will be exclusively through the gate located on DC74, on the Troas Valley.
The event is designed for the whole family, with workshops and activities for children. Free drinking water will also be available throughout the event.
