The price of electricity on Romania's energy exchange this Tuesday was the lowest of the markets Romania is interconnected with, standing even 25 percent lower at peak consumption hours, shows data posted on the website of market operator OPCOM.
The day-ahead electricity price in Romania averaged at 40.95 euro per MWh for the entire day.
For a comparison, in Hungary the price was 55.84 euro per MWh, in Slovakia - 55.57 euro per MWh, and in the Czech Republic it was 55.57 euro per MWh.
The difference was even higher during peak consumption hours (9:00 - 20:00 hrs). For instance, whereas in Romania the price at 19:00 hrs is 49.18 euro per MWh, in Hungary, the Czech Republic and Slovakia the price is 63.01 euro per MWh.
