Retail trade turnover in Romania advanced 10.3 percent in the first 11 months of 2017 compared to the similar period of 2016, a release of the National Institute of Statistics (INS) sent to AGERPRES on Monday reveals.
The growth is a result of sales of non-food products (+13.0 percent), automotive fuel in specialised stores (+12.2 percent) and retail sale of food, beverages and tobacco (+ 6.1 percent).
"The turnover volume for retail trade (except of motor vehicles and motorcycles trade), adjusted for working days and seasonality, between January-November 2017 as compared to January-November 2016, recorded a growth by 9.4 percent due to increases in sales of non-food products (+13.2 percent), retail sale of automotive fuel in specialised stores (+12.0 percent) and retail sale of food, beverages and tobacco (+5.3 percent)," according to INS.
In November 2017 compared to the previous months, the turnover volume has increased both as gross series by 2.4 percent and by 0.7 percent as series adjusted according to the working days and seasonality.
"Compared to the corresponding month of the previous year, the turnover volume for retail trade (except of motor vehicles and motorcycles trade) increased in November both as gross series by 11.4 percent and by 11.7 percent as adjusted for working days and seasonality," the quoted source mentions.
