The leader of the Social Democratic Party (PSD) deputies, Alfred Simonis, declared on Wednesday that Prime Minister Ludovic Orban will benefit from a special pension and has no worries as compared to Romania's elderly, and most likely next week the Social Democrats will make the change to the budget revision, so that pensions increase by 40%.
"Today we convened the joint sitting of the Standing Bureaus of the Chamber and the Senate, we distributed to the committees the budget revision and next week we will probably conduct the amendment and eliminate that decrease of the pension point increase by 26%, which the Orban Government made. I saw a despair of the prime minister accusing PSD again and announcing that he will again challenge to the Constitutional Court this decision to increase pensions by 40%. This character, Ludovic Orban, who all his life was anointed in important positions and was paid with hefty fees, he has accumulated enough not to care about old age, not to worry about tomorrow when he reaches old age. Mr. Ludovic Orban will be the beneficiary of a special pension, after two or three terms he will have a special pension of over 10,000 lei. From this perspective, I can understand that he has no concern for Romania's elders, for our grandparents, for our parents, but I think that a prime minister who behaves responsibly would not have had the right to fight, simply, to wrestle, with the pensioners of Romania, so that their pensions are diminished or not increased," said Simonis, at the Palace of Parliament.
