Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan congratulated Peter Magyar on Monday on his victory in Hungary's parliamentary elections, stressing that he looks forward to further strengthening the strategic partnership with a focus on economic and sectoral cooperation.
"Warm congratulations to Magyar Peter on your electoral victory! We look forward to further strengthening the Strategic Partnership, with a focus on economic and sectoral cooperation," the Romanian prime minister wrote on X.
According to him, the priority now is cooperation to improve the lives of the citizens of both countries in a stronger, more united and more competitive European Union.
"We wish you a successful mandate!," the prime minister concluded.
Hungary's opposition Tisza party is on track to secure a comfortable two-thirds majority in the Budapest legislature. Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has conceded defeat and congratulated opposition leader Péter Magyar. Voter turnout was a record 77.8%.
