Prices for industrial production increased by 5.6 per cent in September compared with the same month of the previous year and by 0.3 per cent month to month, according to data released on Friday by the National Institute of Statistics (INS).
In what concerns the level of the prices for industrial production, the domestic market saw a 0.5 per cent growth in September against August and also a jump of 6.07 per cent against same month of the previous year.
Moreover, prices for industrial production also increased on the external market in September 2018, by approximately 5 per cent against September 2017, but dropped 0.7 per cent against August 2018.
By large industrial groups, the INS statistic showed important increases in the same prices for the energy industry (+15.6 per cent in September 2018 compared with September 2017), the intermediary goods industry (+5.6 per cent), the durables industry (+2.33 per cent), the consumer goods (+1.95 per cent) and the capital goods (+0.51 per cent).
By sections and divisions, the prices for overall industrial production (domestic and external market) climbed 5.64 per cent in September compared with the same month of the previous year.
The drilling industry saw an increase of 13.8 per cent of these prices, in the production and supply of electricity and heating energy, gas, hot water and air conditioner - of 9.19 per cent, in water distribution, sanitation, waste management, decontamination activities - of 5.83 per cent and processing industry, of 4.75 per cent.
INS specifies that the data centralized for August 2018 are rectified, while those for September 2018 are provisional.
