President Klaus Iohannis signed on Thursday decrees appointing Vasile Daniel Suciu deputy prime minister and minister of regional development and public administration and Alexandru-Razvan Cuc transport minister.
"The President of Romania, Mr Klaus Iohannis, signed the following decrees on Thursday, February 21: a decree for the appointment of a Mr. Vasile Daniel Suciu as member of the government, deputy prime minister and minister of regional development and public administration, and a decree appointing Mr Alexandru-Razvan Cuc a member of the government as transport minister, " reads a press statement released by the Presidential Administration.
Prime Minister Viorica Dancila on Wednesday submitted to President Iohannis the picks.
According to a Government press statement, Daniel Suciu was picked for minister of regional development and public administration and Razvan Cuc for transport minister.
"I have made these nominations to end the blockage of the government's activity, especially since the acting period at the two ministries expires. Regional development and transport are two key areas, for which we have provided under the national budget the money necessary for the conduct of investments that Romania needs. For the good implementation of the investment projects coordination by the fully appointed ministers is needed. I am voicing hope that the interests of Romania will prevail and soon the government will be able to carry out its activity in full team," said Viorica Dancila is quoted as saying in the statement.
