Prime Minister Viorica Dancila welcomed on Tuesday, at the Victoria Palace, Belgian Ambassador to Romania Thomas Baekelandt, on a courtesy visit, informs a press release issued by the Government for AGERPRES.
According to the Executive, the central topic of the talks between the two officials was the bilateral relation between Romania and Belgium.
"On this occasion, the commitment of both sides to strengthen cooperation was reconfirmed, with emphasis on deepening political dialogue and developing the economic and sectoral component of the bilateral relation," the release reads.
Another topic on the agenda was Romania's participation as an honorary guest in the Europalia 2019 International Art Festival. The Prime Minister assured us that Romania is "engaged in a sustained process of preparing its participation in this project", the release informs.
The Prime Minister also "expressed satisfaction for the dynamic economic exchanges, which amounted to more than 3 billion euro in 2017."
The meeting also occasioned an exchange of views on topical issues on the European agenda and reconfirmed the common will to deepen cooperation, including in the outlook of Romania's holding the Presidency of the Council of the European Union in 2019, the release also reads.
