Prime Minister, Viorica Dancila, stated on Thursday at the meeting with the Social-Democrat pensioners, that she will not resign as long as she has the support of the Social Democratic Party (PSD, major at rule, ed.n.) leader Liviu Dragnea and that of the governing coalition (PSD-ALDE, the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats, minor at rule, ed.n.).
"I saw today or yesterday that the estimates of the National Institute of Statistics (INS) were released and I saw that we have economic growth, the fact that Romania is on a good path, and this good path Romania is moving along is backed by the governing programme, is supported by you, Romania's pensioners. That is why I was expecting that for this result - just like when you get good grades - to be rewarded. It seems like not everybody thinks that way. I therefore feel compelled to tell you here, at the National Council of the Social Democratic Party's Organization of Pensioners, that under no circumstance will I resign, not as long as I have the support of the party's leader, as long as I am backed by the ruling coalition and I have your support," premier Viorica Dancila said at the National Council of the Social Democratic Party's Organization of Pensioners' meeting.
