"Fighting and preventing African swine fever, as well as supporting the animal breeders whose farms were affected by this virus are always on the Government's agenda, the Minister of Agriculture and the ANSVSA (National Sanitary Veterinary and Food Safety Authority). Mr. Minister Petre Daea has just returned from Brussels with good news, after meeting the European Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development, Phil Hogan. By using European funds, namely from the European Fund for Agriculture and Rural Development, as well as from the national budget, we will allot 43 million euros. This is money that will go directly to the swine breeders, first of all to the small and medium-sized farms, but also, indirectly, to the public services working to fight and prevent African swine flu from further spreading," stated Dancila, in the opening of the Government meeting.
