The State Assets Administration Authority (AAAS) budget for 2026, worth 25.045 million lei, was voted on Monday evening in the specialized committees of Parliament, with a majority of votes in favor and only five against, from the opposition.

The Committee on Economic Policy, Reform and Privatization of the Chamber of Deputies and the Committee on Economic Affairs, Industries, Services, Tourism and Entrepreneurship of the Senate debated and favorably approved the form proposed by the Government.

Present at the meeting, the president of AAAS, Florian - Daniel Geanta stated that "the authority operates on two budgets, one from the state, which strictly refers to the functioning of the institution, and an own budget from the revenues generated from the privatization and asset valorization activity". The proposed budget, of 25.045 million lei, is strictly for personnel and utility expenses.

According to the presentation from the joint economic committees, AAAS will continue the activity of capitalizing on share packages, but also of actively monitoring the administration procedures of companies with majority state capital.

Among other attributions of the institution, there are: continuing the activity of capitalizing on receivables from the portfolio by performing specialized analyses, which will indicate the most efficient method of capitalization; monitoring debtors in the payment installment procedure; analyzing the restructuring programs/reorganization plans proposed by the judicial administrators for AAAS debtors subject to the provisions of the Insolvency Law, as well as the accounting expertise requested by the court in the files for resolving the liability of the administrators of AAAS debtor companies or in other litigations; etc.

The Government adopted on Thursday the draft budget for 2026, built on an economic growth of 1%, a budget deficit estimated at 127.7 billion lei, representing 6.2% of GDP, and inflation forecast at an average annual rate of 6.5%.
