Firefighters intervened in over 100 cases in the Capital and Ilfov County, mainly to remove fallen trees, with 40 cars also reported damaged, ISU Bucharest - Ilfov informed on Wednesday morning.
As a result of the Code Yellow and Orange weather phenomena, between 17.02 at 10:00 and 18.02 at 06:00, 91 interventions were recorded in Bucharest, of which 84 were for the removal of trees and seven for the removal of detached construction elements. Following these incidents, 32 cars were damaged.
In Ilfov County, 10 interventions were recorded, of which nine were for the removal of trees and one for a detached construction element. Eight cars were damaged.
"No special situations were recorded and there are no injured persons. The monitoring of all cases was carried out by the personnel on duty in the ISU BIF operational group and through the integrated dispatch centre. At this moment, requests received through the 112 emergency number are being handled dynamically by our crews in the field, without returning to the sub-units to which they belong, until all cases within the intervention area are resolved. Most of the situations we are intervening in are those generated by trees fallen on the carriageway or on cars, which are also blocking road traffic," ISU Bucharest - Ilfov mentions.
At present, interventions are under way to remove a tree that has fallen on the tram power supply cables on Calea Rahovei at the intersection with Progresului Street. Action is also being taken on Ion Rotaru Street, where a tree has fallen onto the carriageway, on Dionisie Street, where two trees have fallen onto the carriageway, on Banul Udrea Street, where a tree has been brought down and on Campia Libertatii Street.
