The number of companies and registered sole traders (PFA) going insolvent increased by 22.24pct in the first two months of 2022, compared to the same period last year, with 962 insolvencies, according to the data published on the website of the National Trade Register Office (ONRC), Agerpres reports.
Most insolvent companies and PFAs were registered in Bucharest, respectively 169, increasing by 1.20pct compared to January-February 2021, when 167 insolvencies were recorded.
The next places in the insolvency ranking are Bihor counties, with 76 insolvencies (plus 2.70pct), Timis - 56 (plus 64.71pct) and Cluj - 50 (minus 35.9pct).
The lowest insolvencies were registered in Gorj counties - 3 (minus 50pct compared to the first two months of 2021), Harghita - 3 (compared to 1 in January-February 2021) and Covasna - 5 (plus 6.67pct) .
By fields of activity, the highest number of insolvencies was recorded in the wholesale, retail, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, respectively 250, constructions 183 and the manufacturing industry - 101.
In February 2022, 540 insolvencies were registered, most of them in Bucharest (95), Bihor (47), Cluj (27) and Constanta (24).
