The Romanian Ministry of Justice is ready to strengthen cooperation with the colleagues from the Republic of Moldova, including in the field of fighting corruption, Minister Catalin Predoiu said in the context of the International Moldova Support Conference held in Berlin.
"Since 2010, the Romanian Ministry of Justice has increased cooperation with the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Moldova, by signing a first Agreement on cooperation between the Romanian Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Moldova, as well as a Joint Action Plan in fighting severe forms of criminality and corruption. The Romanian Ministry of Justice is preparing to strengthen cooperation with colleagues in the Republic of Moldova, including in combating corruption. The Plan includes joint actions and an exchange of good practices in several relevant areas, including in preventing and combating corruption," said Catalin Predoiu, as quoted in a press release of the Ministry of Justice sent to AGERPRES on Wednesday.
The Minister of Justice also said that Romania is still ready to provide technical assistance to the Republic of Moldova and to increase cooperation between the relevant authorities in Chisinau and the Romanian Ministry of Justice, the National Anti-corruption Directorate, the National Integrity Authority, the Anti-corruption Directorate within the Ministry of Interior.
The Ministry of Justice participated in the International Moldova Support Conference held in Berlin on Tuesday, through a delegation led by Secretary of State George Serban. Romania was co-organizer of the event, along with Germany (which is currently holding the G7 presidency) and France (which is currently holding the rotating presidency of the Council of the European Union).
