The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) announces that, in the context of recent security developments in the Middle East, it has raised the travel warning level for the State of Israel to level 8/9 - avoid any travel.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly recommends that Romanian citizens avoid any travel to the State of Israel and recommends consulting the page https://www.mae.ro/travel-alerts/2938, according to a press release sent to AGERPRES.
At the same time, in the case of Romanian citizens who are on the territory of the State of Israel, the MFA advises them to strictly comply with the instructions of local authorities, especially those aimed at respecting the alarm regime in case of attack and sheltering in safe spaces, and to obtain information from official sources.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs mentions that the Israeli authorities have decided to close the airspace.
Romanian citizens who are on the territory of the State of Israel and need consular assistance can call the Embassy of Romania in Tel Aviv: +972 545643279 and the Consulate General of Romania in Haifa: +972 543 998 038.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs approved, on Friday, the voluntary repatriation of non-essential personnel and family members from the Romanian Embassy in Tel Aviv, the Consulate General of Romania in Haifa, and the Romanian Representative Office in Ramallah.
