Romania's Minister-delegate for European Affairs Victor Negrescu voiced his hope, in a statement for AGERPRES, that the debate on Wednesday in the European Parliament, which tackles our country's situation, won't be "a new Romanian-Romanian conflict."
"Today's debate is about Romania and I hope the discussion in the plenary sitting will not be a new Romanian-Romanian conflict, direct or through the European political groups. I am convinced that the Executive with present with dignity, defending the country's image and reputation, inviting, at the same time, to an honest dialogue and a good cooperation both at European partners level and internally, in order for Romania not to be a topic of some political disputes in the middle of an electoral campaign for the European Parliament, which is predicted to be more and more fiery," Victor Negrescu stated.
On Wednesday, Prime Minister Viorica Dancila participates in the debates of the European Parliament tackling the situation of Romania.
On Tuesday, PM Dancila had a meeting in Strasbourg with First Vice-President of the European Commission Frans Timmermans, context in which the Romanian official underscored the necessity of a tighter collaboration between Romania and the European Commission during our country's Presidency of the Council of the EU and expressed the wish that Wednesday's debate in the European Parliament be well-supported and constructive.
