MEP Siegfried Muresan maintained on Wednesday that the letter through which leaders of the Social-Democratic Party (PSD) are requesting the resignation of Liviu Dragnea (the party's chairman, ed.n.) is just an "internal squabble", and the "only good thing" for Romania would be for the chairman of the Social-Democratic Party to leave the leadership of the Chamber of Deputies, the current Government to resign and an Executive to be installed that will "do right by the Romanian people" during Romania's Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
"Any Social-Democrat that will come in Dragnea's place will act the same way and will be just as harmful for the governing and Romanians. Especially now since we are due to take over the Presidency of the European Union. PSD is a completely discredited party in Europe. The letter of a few PSD leaders requesting Dragnea's resignation is just an internal squabble. The only good thing for Romania would be Liviu Dragnea's resignation as Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies, the resignation of the Dancila Government and installation of a Government that will do right by the Romanian people during its the EU Presidency," Muresan Wednesday wrote on Facebook.
