MApN: Drone attack at border with Romania; elements of aerial vehicle fallen in Plauru area

Russian forces carried out a new series of drone attacks on Tuesday morning against civilian and infrastructure targets in Ukraine, near the river border with Romania, in Tulcea County, with elements of an aerial vehicle reported to have fallen on national territory, in the area of the locality of Plauru, the Ministry of National Defence (MApN) announces.

The population in the area received a RO-ALERT message.

According to the Ministry of National Defence, in the early hours of Tuesday morning, Russian forces carried out a new series of drone attacks against civilian and infrastructure targets in Ukraine, near the river border with Romania, in Tulcea County.

Two F-16 aircraft of the Romanian Air Force, on Air Policing combat service, took off at around 1:40 from the 86th Air Base in Fetesti.

The National Military Command Centre (core) notified the Inspectorate General for Emergency Situations regarding the implementation of measures to alert the population in the north of Tulcea County, with a RO-ALERT message sent at 1:55.

Elements of an aerial vehicle were reported to have fallen on national territory in the area of the locality of Plauru, the Ministry of Defence says on its Facebook page.

After the air alert ended, at around 3:00, a reconnaissance team began field checks. So far, the impact area has not been identified. Searches will continue as visibility improves.

The Ministry of National Defence informed and continues to inform allied structures in real time about the situations generated by the attacks, remaining in permanent contact with them.
