Local companies need stable conditions, clear rules and a predictable European framework to invest, innovate and create quality jobs, Concordia Employers' Confederation says in a press release sent to AGERPRES on Monday.

The organisation is thus joining the urgent call addressed by BusinessEurope to European institutions to move from ambition to delivery on the competitiveness and regulatory burden reduction agenda.

"In what concerns the Romanian business environment, improving competitiveness at EU level is not just a desideratum but an essential condition for growth and prosperity in the long run. Within the same mission, we need to align measures taken at the European and national level," Adelina Dabu, head of Public Affairs at Concordia stated.

In his turn, the President of BusinessEurope, Fredrik Persson, underscored that "this is the moment to move from ambition to delivery on the competitiveness and regulatory burden reduction agenda."

'The business community stands ready to support these efforts, which is why BusinessEurope is issuing this strong call for action and concrete proposals on how to boost European competitiveness. The EU needs to fully capitalise on the potential of its single market, lower energy prices and put the right conditions in place to attract private investments, develop new ideas and commercialise them in Europe. This must coincide with an ambitious trade and diversification agenda, effective carbon leakage measures and a tangible reduction in regulatory burden for companies," Persson said.

Concordia Employers' Union is among the 20 important sectors of the Romanian economy and is a nationally representative social dialogue partner.

With a contribution of 30% of the GDP and more than 450,000 employees in 4,200 small and medium-sized companies, Concordia is a member of BusinessEurope, the International Organisation of Employers (IOE) and Business at OECD (BIAC).
