President Iohannis will have a meeting with the Austrian Federal President, Alexander Van der Bellen, and with Bulgarian counterpart Rumen Radev, followed by joint press statements. The talks of the three presidents will focus on topical European themes, especially those on the future of the European Union, but also on the current Austrian presidency at the Council of the Union, as well as on the future Romanian presidency.
Klaus Iohannis will highlight Romania's interest in cooperating with Austria and Bulgaria to achieve the common goal of advancing the European agenda in the interest of Union's citizens, the quoted source informs.
"At the same time, the President of Romania will mention that our country supports the idea of a strong Union, characterized by solidarity and cohesion, which promotes concrete policies and focused on the citizen. Thus, during its presidency of the Council of the European Union, Romania will pursue the promotion of a pragmatic approach and of some feasible objectives, so that European citizens may benefit from concrete results," the Presidential Administration in Bucharest underscores.
